Alex Sogno

Global Asset Solutions founder.

 

Alex Sogno has been a passionate supporter of the hotel sector throughout his working life, having begun his career at HVS International New York following his graduation from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland.

 

Following a period with Cushman & Wakefield HQ in New York, Alex joined Kingdom Hotel Investments (KHI), where he asset managed around 20 hotels under the Four Seasons, Fairmont, Raffles, Mövenpick, and Swissotel brands across EMEA and Asia. Alex assisted in KHI’s listing on the London and Dubai stock exchange. He left KHI to found Global Asset Solutions in 2007.

 

Global Asset Solutions provides independent asset management, investment banking and consulting services to help hotel owners maximise the value of their assets. Global Asset Solutions operates worldwide with clients including Katara Hospitality, UBS, Nikki Beach, Omran, Colony Capital, Atlas Hospitality, Accor and Marriott International and manages over $20bn of assets, including the Rosewood Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Four Seasons Madrid, Al Bustan Palace (Ritz Carlton), W Ibiza, or Molitor Paris.

 

Alex has maintained his connection with Lausanne, creating and teaching the MBA asset management course at the school before launching an asset management course available through the Global Asset Solutions educational platform.

 

He regularly speaks at conferences across the globe and is the founder of the Hospitality Asset Managers Association in Singapore (AP) and Dubai (MEA). Alex is also the President of the EMEA International Luxury Hotel Association.
