The first episode will look at the role asset managers could play in effectively reviewing brand operations, as the industry continues to expand into the mainstream as an asset class.

The series launches with six podcasts, which cover subjects including growing opportunities for investors, the importance of demand generation and the key role of alignment and flexibility in ensuring a successful and profitable asset.

Alex Sogno, CEO, Global Asset Solutions, said: “We are inspired by the innovation and growth that we see around us in the luxury hotel sector, as investors gain knowledge and appreciation for this vibrant market.

“Trading is currently strong, but the year ahead is uncertain, with cost pressures continuing to be felt and lingering issues around inflation. The lack of qualified staff threatens the industry, and inventiveness when considering personnel conditions is essential.

It is an exciting time, with deals starting to bubble up, whether that is rumours that Accor will sell one of its divisions, or a possible merger of Choice and Wyndham.

“We are stronger as a sector if we share and debate and I hope this series will spark the conversations which stimulate and educate us all.”

The podcast series follows the launch last year by Global Asset Solutions of a very successful  online training course with external accreditation which will support the growing demand for hotel asset management.

The course targets aspiring asset managers who are already working elsewhere in the sector, as well as students and new entrants.

Sogno said: “Hotel asset management has been growing in recent years, with detailed operational knowledge much sought after as the search for profit becomes ever-more challenging.

Asset management at its best sees on-the-ground knowledge combined with experience to ensure owner, brand and all stakeholders are aligned and function at their best.”
